Monthly Google Ads & Analytics Email

Attached are monthly reports for [insert-client].

The first page of each report is Google Ads, and on the second page, you’ll see Google Analytics, which is stats for the entire website.

The report on the second page shows overall website traffic and a breakdown by the channel that sent people to the site and which channels resulted in conversions (contact form submissions or clicks to call from mobile devices).

I’ll provide a quick summary of those channels below.

  • Organic Search – Someone typed in Google Ads and clicked an organic result (not an ad).
  • Direct – Someone typed your website into their browser or clicked on a bookmark.
  • Paid Search – Someone clicked one of the Google Ads that we’re running.
  • Organic Social – Someone clicked on your website from social media (not an ad).
  • Referral – Someone clicked on your website from another website.
  • Unassigned – Google doesn’t know, possibly because the user had privacy software on their computer or phone.

Most reports have three main metrics: views, sessions, and users. Sessions are always more than users because some people visit your site multiple times in a month. For example, if I visited your site three times in a month, that would be three sessions, but only one user. Additionally, if I viewed two pages on each of those three sessions, then I would have generated six views (or page views) for the whole month.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
