Important Notice:
This workflow is specifically for editing and improving published blog posts. Do not delete the entire post or create a brand-new post when using this workflow. There will be a separate SOP for handling brand-new posts.
Step 1: Start with the Final Combined Prompt
This prompt incorporates all the key instructions for rewriting a blog post so it’s optimized, humanized, and SEO-friendly.
Final Combined Prompt to Enter into ChatGPT:
I’m going to provide you with an existing blog post that isn’t performing well. Your task is to rewrite it, improving its readability, flow, and SEO while preserving the author’s original voice, supportive tone, and intent. This content is for a therapy practice, so it should sound empathetic, clear, and professional, never generic or salesy.
Please follow these rules:
- Keep the author’s voice intact, but make the text smoother and easier to read.
- Rewrite all headings as clear, question-based, or user-focused phrases that reflect real search queries.
- Break any long paragraphs into smaller chunks (2–4 sentences).
- Use bullet points or numbered lists where it helps scanning.
- Add short, relatable examples or context if any section feels abrupt or thin.
- Vary sentence length and structure, including occasional rhetorical questions, to sound natural and conversational.
- Use empathetic language that validates the reader’s feelings and challenges.
- Avoid AI sentence patterns and perfect parallelism. Combine short and punchy sentences with longer, more complex ones, but be human, sometimes imperfect, but relatable.
- Where natural, show professional expertise, such as how therapy can help, without being promotional.
- Add internal links to related service pages (example: couples counseling) only where they fit naturally.
- Include only one call-to-action at the end, linking naturally to https://www.fireflytherapyaustin.com/get-started/ with flowing anchor text.
- Do not use em dashes, horizontal rules, or random bolding in the text.
After rewriting:
- Provide three ranked page title options under 60 characters, focused on SEO and user engagement.
The goal is a blog post that reads like a caring therapist speaking directly to the reader, is optimized for search, and is genuinely helpful.
Step 2: Paste the Original Article
Paste the full blog post from the website or draft directly below the prompt in the input box and submit.
Step 3: Review the ChatGPT Response Carefully
When ChatGPT responds, review these key things:
Readability & Helpfulness:
Does the post feel easy to read, supportive, and address the reader’s needs?
Formatting Issues:
Look specifically for:
- Em dashes (replace with commas or periods)
- Random or excessive bold formatting mid-sentence
- Horizontal rules (lines or “—“)
- Odd line breaks or spacing issues
If you find any of the above, you can ask ChatGPT to remove or fix them in another prompt or manually clean them before proceeding.
Step 4: Request Markdown Output for Publishing
Once satisfied, ask ChatGPT:
“Please output the entire rewritten article along with page titles and meta description in clean Markdown format only.”
This ensures you get properly formatted Markdown that works well with your CMS.
Step 5: Convert Markdown to HTML
Go to https://markdowntohtml.com/ and:
- Paste the Markdown into the left pane.
- Review the HTML preview on the right side for any leftover formatting issues.
Step 6: Edit Existing Post Content Carefully
Important: Since this workflow is for editing an existing post, do not delete the whole post or create a new post. Instead:
- Work section-by-section inside the existing post editor.
- Replace the old content with the newly rewritten content from the MarkdownToHTML Preview section.
- Remove any unwanted formatting (em dashes, random bold, horizontal lines) as you update.
- Preview the post on the site before publishing to ensure formatting, readability, and links work perfectly.
Step 7: Final Metadata Entry
- Use one of the optimized titles provided by ChatGPT as the page’s SEO title tag.
- Use the meta description text ChatGPT gave you for the SEO description field.
Summary Checklist
